I'm new to this and need to set my my PayPal account with my new employer. What would my PayPal account name be, the e-mail address I use to log into PayPal?

carriehicks1- That's not a stupid question 🙂 You're new to PayPal, so it makes complete sense.
As far as your answer, for someone to send you money, they would need your PayPal email address. For you to be able to accept money, your email address would need to be confirmed. You could check this by clicking the 'Profile' link in your account, and right under your email address it says if it's confirmed or not. If it isn't, click on that and follow the prompts, and you should be good to go!

I am selling a car on ebay and the buyer wants to pay by Paypal. But, he is in Oklahoma and I am in California so he is hiring an agent to drive the car to him at the cost of $845.00. The buyer wants me to send the $845.00 to the driver. He has added that amount to the price of the car. I received an e-mail from Paypal today and they said the money for the car and driver fees are sitting in my paypal account but they won't deposit them into my account until the driver arrangements are made. That means I would have to send $845.00 by western union BEFORE you release the funds?

jodyann- Uh..stop. You don't want to do that. Whatever email you received from 'PayPal' is not actually from PayPal. Anytime you receive funds, even if we place them on hold for some reason, you'd still be able to see the money in your account. And at no point do we ever have anything to do with, or tell you to do anything with, Western Union. You can forward the email you received to spoof@paypal.com, but I guarantee you it is NOT legitimate. You do not want to let someone drive off with your car, because you're not getting paid for it. You can check out some of the stories here if you'd like some other examples.

Thank you for your reply. I have forwarded the 2 e-mail I received to the spoof address. I hope whoever this happens to in the future doesn't just send money without checking things out but I can see how someone could be fooled with that bogus e-mail. It looks just like yours.
