American Coradius International - scam or legit?

Hello everyone! Quick question and a bit of an odd situation. A few years ago (probably 7-8 years) I had a Paypal credit account then known as BillMeLater. Stupid teenage me let it go delinquent and eventually charged off. I paid off this debt and moved on with life. My parents just received a letter at their house that I haven't lived at in probably 5-6 years from a collection agency named "American Coradius International" stating I owed a debt to BillMeLater who is serviced by PayPal credit now. I reached out to Paypal directly and the representative was awesome and ran my information and stated he could see no accounts associated with my social that have been open/closed/charged off and suggested I disregard the letter. I bought a house 2 years ago and this debt was also not mentioned at all by my lender. When I google this business it seems like they do this kind of thing often and hope people don't reject the debt and then claim it as real? Do I need to send a debt rejection letter or just leave it alone? My Google searches have brought me to numerous posts on here over the years of people saying it's 100% a scam and I just want to make sure that is what it is. Thank you!
