I supposedly received an email from PayPal verifying a purchase I did not make. I can call the number to cancel it within 24 hours.

However, the people on the other end want to use Team Viewer to get into my computer. I am very familiar with Team viewer and think this is a scam. Has anyone else experienced this? The PayPal number is[Removed. Phone #s not permitted] Both people who answered indicated I wouldn't get my money and my account had been hacked. However, there is nothing wrong with my account and the fraudulent amount is not listed. Thought that I should report this.

It sounds like a spoof, if its not on your account then you haven't bought anything and paypal DO NOT put their tel number on any emails.

They would tell you to go to their site and use the 'contact us' option or go to the resolution centre.

The number you rang would have been scammers trying to hack your paypal account.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I agree. I have not been hacked because I know about teamviewer software. Another person would have typed it in and allowed the jerk access to their computer. I reported it to the FTC. Don’t know if they’ll follow up but wanted to try to stop them.
