PayPal overcharging sellers fee

Hi, I believe the paypal charge for selling is 20 pence plus 3.4%. I just received a fee and got charged more than that... £68.75 for item and postage combined received £3.67 charged. Even taking the 20 pence away that is over 5% fee. It isnt a lot but 1 it is the principle and 2 if they are doing this on all transactions it isnt fair. Any help please?

PayPal updated their standard domestic fees in August 2019 to 2.9%+ 30p. The cross-border rate could have been used instead if it is not 2.9%+30p (domestic rate).

Yeah, it appears the cross border rate was used, an additional 2.0% to the 2.9% + 30p = 4.9% + 30p for £68.75 is £3.67

Either the buyer's PayPal account was opened in US/Canada or Europe II group (Albania, Andorra, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Kosovo, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Switzerland, Ukraine.)

Therefore PayPal didn't not overcharge you.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
