Playstation 5 payment.

Hey there PayPal Community. As some of you may know, scalpers have gotten hold of all the ps5’s and they’re impossible to find. I found one for a semi reasonable price off Offerup. I paid him this morning the sum of $670. As you also may know, the PS5 doesn’t actually release until November 13th and when you buy/sell something using Paypal it holds your money until the buyer receives and confirms transaction. The seller brought this to my attention after I sent him the payment, and I don’t blame him for being upset. I would want the money now as well. He’s asking me to confirm the transaction after 48 hours (I guess that’s when you’re able to do so on PayPal). I sent him the money under buyers protection because I don’t personally know this man. I have no problem confirming the transaction so that this man is able to get his money, but my concern is in a month from now if he just doesn’t send it, or it’s a ripoff version of the console, or whatever the problem may be. Would I still be able to dispute the charge and get a refund a month later even if I confirm the transaction now? Thanks in advance!

Unlikely you would win a dispute for non receipt of item if you have ticked to say you confirmed receipt.
