PayPal Debit Card in Canada?

I was looking into getting a PayPal debit card, not too much luck googling... But I came across a eBay page that said;

"How to request for your FREE PayPal debit card:

  • Upgrade to a Premier or Business PayPal account
  • Register and confirm a bank account on your PayPal account
  • Have registered a credit card where the monthly statement is sent to a physical street address (not a P.O. Box)
  • PayPal account must be open for 60 days
  • Be an active PayPal member in good standing"

Just wondering if this is true, and if I have to do step 3, as I don't have a credit card to start with... Help?

I just wanted to point out that they just authorized the use of visa debit in Canada by changing the regulations up here..  CIBC is one of the banks that has jumped on board..

Why would paypal not want to jump on board with this again??

This would be helpful to many businesses that accept payments by paypal, but need instant access to their cash to make payments to companies..

right now I have to look at other options for accepting payments with my business because paypal just does not offer the card into canada. kindly take the time to talk to upper management and ask them for a review.

Regards,

I was about to make a new thread, then came across this one.

A PayPal Credit/Debit card would be welcomed for my online business. My business has grown substantially over the last 2 months.

I have a supplier for my products and they accept Credit Cards, not PayPal... 98% of my clients pay me through PayPal and I am getting to a point where I have to withdraw from PayPal on a regular basis just so I can transfer the funds onto my credit card in order to avoid 'insufficient funds/transaction not approved'.

There have been a few circumstances where I have neglected to transfer the funds out of my PayPal account (into my bank account - and then transfer onto my credit card) in a timely manner, and suddenly there comes a burst of sales and the risk of not having sufficient credit to continue to do business.

Sure, I can always ask my bank for an increase in my credit card limit, but this is only a bandaid solution since I will still have to go through the transfer process in order to pay down my credit card. If business continues to grow the way it has recently, then I simply approach my credit card limit faster and start the whole process over by asking for more credit or continue to play the tranfer-funds game on a regular basis... Either way, this is NOT an ideal solution partly due to the delay in transfer time from PayPal into my bank account and then the delay from bank account to credit card. Smiley Sad

I would like to know if PayPal has an alternate solution to this situation?

Is it in the works for PayPal to reintroduce Credit/Debit Cards to the many non US account holders?
