API Error Codes

We are using a prestashop cms, and have integrated a paypal payment module. We have entered all the info required in the back end. Now when making payment we keep receiving the following message:

"This transaction cannot be processed due to an invalid merchant configuration"

The developer told us that he found that it is an error 10501 from paypal. Therefore we have to disable or inactivate the billing agreement.

Has anyone had this kind of issue? Or do you know what to do to solve it?
