How to avoid customer ID requirment

Hi, as per PayPal team, the customer id requirement is mandatory for some countries. But, I think this requirement is not good for conversion. In some countries people are very hesitating to give their id number online. Is there any solution to avoid this requirement? Thanks

I think you're referring to like Tax ID? If so, then we only ask for this where we are required to for example for regulatory reasons.
