Simple way for members to pay for membership

Good morning,

I am trying to figure out the easiest way for our members to pay their dues for our Amateur Radio Club and for events such as our annual Christmas Dinner.

Our club dues are from January to December so I don't think I subscription button will work.

I am using a donate button if they want to make a donation to the club.

The old buy now button would be perfect but it seems that isn't an option any more.

It seems like the options are now to use some kind of premade shopping cart or code your own solution.

I am able to to a little coding but I am not the profession at it.

Is there something I am missing?

Thanks

Hello @frrobert2

Thank you for posting to the PayPal Merchant Community.

If the dues are required annually, you can setup subscriptions. Your members will be charged automatically once a year. The new subscriptions are easy to setup, and you can choose a link or code. You can set a subscription to be unlimited or limited. Limited means you choose how many times the members will be charged. It can even be 1 charge or up to 12 charges for the limited option. Unlimited means that they will be charged until the subscription is cancelled or paused.

The annual dinner, probably the donation button would be a good option for that, if you do not see the buy ow button in your account. If you have an older PayPal account you can still access the buy now and add to cart buttons.

  • Log into your PayPal Account
  • Hover over your name
  • Click Account settings
  • Click Website Payments
  • Click Update next to PayPal buttons
  • If you see the buy now or add to cart you can click on it
  • If not click on Sell on Social
  • Click Add product
  • Add a photo
  • Fill in the Product Description
  • Add the Price
  • Click Create
  • Copy and paste the URL to your website

Here is how to create a Subscription button:

  • Log into your PayPal Account
  • Click on Sales
  • Click on Subscriptions
  • Click on Subscription plans
  • Click Create Plan
  • Click Subscription Product
  • Input the details and click Next
  • Choose Fixed pricing
  • Click next
  • Input a name for your Plan and description
  • Click Next
  • You can set limited billing cycles or Unlimited billing cycles
    • Limited means you choose how many times they will be charged
  • Choose Yearly in the drop down next to every
  • Fill in the rest of the details
  • Click Next
  • Click Turn Plan On
  • If you prefer a link to the button code click Do this later
  • Click the three dots next to your Plan
  • Click Copy Link
  • Paste the URL link into your website

Thank you,

Jennifer

Thanks for the suggestions.

Our memberships are based on calendar year. Jan 1st to Dec 31st  so all memberships for the year end on December 31st.

So current members membership for the next Year starts on Jan 1st and ends on Dec 31st

New members their first year of membership goes from when they signup to Dec 31st.  Their first year of membership cost is prorated based on when they sign up.

From what I have read the subscription starts from when payment is made till the term is complete and the button does not support the model we use.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

Is it possible to do memberships that have more than 1 membership price?

Example:

Adult = $5

Children = $1

Question: Can a person get 2 adult memberships, and 2 children memberships, in 1 Subscription plan?

Example:  Membership above = $12  (2 adults, 2 kids)

@MTS_Jennifer

Thank you
