The Merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment issue #express checkout

Hi Guys,

 

Before making this post i already contacted PayPal MTS support but had no luck so far.

I am asking the PayPal community and hope you guys can help me because i have no other options to have this sorted quickly anymore.

I have a PayPal merchant account for 10+ years. All of a sudden (without my changing anything) the following issue occurs:


When people try to pay me via express checkout the PayPal express (Hermes) screen says : The Merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment. And my customers can endless press on the "Complete Purchase" button. But nothing happens. See below screenshot:

As you can see in above screenshot the express checkout says: The Merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment

 

Now when i enter in my script someone else's PayPal merchant account (and i change NOTHING ELSE) this line : The Merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment. Does not appear at all and people can just make the payment. The Complete purchase button is working!

 

Nothing is changed in the script. I only give another PayPal merchant account email to handle the payment.

When i use someone elses merchant account but the same script.

As you can see in above screenshot the line: The Merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment. Is not there!!

I already contact PayPal support, phoned them etc. Nobody can help me. I think this issue is really related to my account but there are no limits when i login. How can this be fixed? I read somewhere that PayPal support must disable the require billing address option. But not sure? I cannot change this setting anywhere in my PayPal account. Maybe you guys know it and can make me happy today. Thank you so much for your help!

The "Complete Purchase" button for digital products, doesn't work.

Thank you for posting to the PayPal community.

 

Yes, looks like an issue with the "Require Billing Address" feature "Enabled" in your PayPal account. If you do not require buyer billing address details, you can disable this feature.

 

I would suggest to please contact our PayPal Customer service via link - https://www.paypal.com/smarthelp/contact-us (then choose at the bottom one of the contact methods - email or phone) who should be able to help you regarding the request.

 

They will be able to assist you further as they are specially trained to address this type of account inquiry.

Hi there,

 

I am trying to link my facebook ad account to my paypal account but it won't complete due to this message "the merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment". My billing address is set up on paypal and facebook so I'm not sure what the problem is. Is it something I can disable on PayPal?

Hello,

 

our customers cannot pay through our paypal gateway. PayPal will first redirect them to a page with the message:

 

"The merchant requires your billing address to complete this payment." They are then signed out of the transaction.

 

We didn't change anything in the system. Can you help us, please? Is it necessary for you to reset us to not require a billing address? We really do not require this billing address.

 

Where can I set up this option, please?
