Can I transfer money to a bank account in Ecuador

Hello, is this possible? Is it possible to open a paypal account if you are in Ecuador? I am trying to send money to someone in Ecuador. The money has gone from my credit card, but they cannot withdraw it help!!

They have to request a cheque in that country to withdraw funds UNLESS they are a U.S resident working or living there when they can add and withdraw to a U.S bank account.

thanks for the reply. When they look in their paypal account. THey can see the money i have transfered. The problem is that they can't do anything else as when the try (to refund me, to link a bank acocunt, anything) the paypal system askes for a passport or ID number. When she enters this information, it states "

• We’re sorry, something seems to have gone wrong. Please try again.

and it has done this now about a 100 times, so she cannot do anything else! Do you know what can be done or what the problem is? Many thanks

I'm having the same problem. Is it possible to open an account and link an Ecuadorian account to it? or are only Canadian and US bank account accepted.

You can have a paypal account in your country but you can't withdraw to a bank account or card.

You can only contact customer services to send you a check in the post.
Paypal is country specific, so not all countries have ''all'' the paypal services.

However as paypal is a U.S company it allows its ex-pats to link their bank accounts to any other countries paypal account, if they are working or living in that country. However the U.S bank account option is not for normal citizens of that country.
