Changing the amount of a monthly donation

I would like to increase the amount of a monthly donation. I have read the archived materials and found none helpful, especially the response that it is up to the charity. I make the donation using PayPal and I cannot understand why this isn’t a simple adjustment.  This is what PayPal says at the end of my monthly notification:

"To change or cancel your agreement with <name of charity>, log in to your PayPal account, go to your Profile page, and click My Preapproved Payments.”  

But there appears to be no mechanism for the change part, highlighted above. It seems to me that the only way available to do this is to cancel (make inactive) the donation, and then using the charity's donation button, make a new monthly payment arrangement at the revised amount.

Any comments or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, make Inactive the previous Pre-approved donation and make a new donation with the new amount and make it a recurring one.

Thanks very much for taking the time to confirm my own bit of sleuthing, sharpiemaker. I do appreciate it and the more I think about it, it really isn’t that big of a deal. I had some serious, extremely time-consuming problems with Paypal about a year ago having to do with an automatic payment so I’m a bit spooked about the process of changing things. 🙂
