Companies creating subscriptions for non-recurring payments that I do not have the ability to cancel

PayPal is allowing companies to create subscriptions for one time purchases. They don't even require the companies to get my login information before charging me now and I cannot change or cancel the automatic payment because I do not have a subscriptions page anymore. If I click the transaction under my transaction history and try to view the automatic payment that way it just says:
We could not find that Automatic Payment
And I can't think of any way to access it. I mean, companies are allowed to create subscriptions without my permission, and bill it without my input, but I am not allowed to see it or stop it?
I've also noticed, on both Chrome and Firefox latest versions, various areas of my accounts disappearing at random. Then coming back a few weeks later. I don't understand what's going on.
Meanwhile, PayPal support has been impossible to get a hold of. Their hew "instant message" system is a joke since no one is even there to recieve the message and by the time anyone ever gets it to reply I am not there to see it and by the time I see it the chat is closed which requires me to start the process over. I am under the impression that the entire insulting point of calling it an instant message is to have an excuse to not actually help anyone.
