Failed Internet order but paypal payment taken

Hi all. Tried to order on Jessops website and pay by Paypal. At the Paypal payment last stage, message said failed, choose another payment method. Received a paypal payment confirmation email. PayPal account was in credit from a recent eBay sale so money deducted from balance. PayPal account shows money paid but pending and waiting authorisation from vendor. Jessops do not show the order as being placed. Jessops hiding behind email customer service. Not yet responded. Does the pending transaction cancel if not authorised after a certain time? How is best to resolve this if Jessops won't respond. Over £500, so not an amount I can afford to lose. Thanks in advance folks!
