Refund afterpay

I was refunded yesterday - paid via afterpay through eBay , had paid it all off . Issued refund and now it’s saying refund paid to a MasterCard which I don’t own and no info on my afterpay account ? Anyone have any idea how and why ? Cheers

I had this problem too,  don't have a Master Card, let alone one with the number on the end of it 😞  I can't see the refund showing anywhere either,  PayPal account,  Afterpay account,  bank account,  WHERE do look or go from here 😞

What numbers were the four digits at end of your MasterCard they say refunding too ?

Yes,  I paid with Afterpay,  but no refund seen anywhere yet,  don't know what they are thinking,  Ijust know that this is not an account number  I have ever had,  just concerned where my refund is.

How long did they take to do your refund?,  it looks as though from your email that they waited until you had paid it of before refunding.

Forgot to mention that I also didn't realise that PayPal was the middle man 😞

When I was in checkout,  PayPal was NOT even mentioned as being part of the process unless you chose it.

So has anyone actually got a refund via these Mastercard accounts which we don't have?  Trying to PayPal's support system is a nightmare.

I've had the same today for an $820 refund ( the ebay order was $730 due to the Afterpay promotion ). Then the retailer called to say did I know it was a pre-order ( no stock currently ) and would I like a refund to my credit card. Have received the email but its to a mystery Mastercard XXXX also. Paypal chat told me to chase Afterpay. Retailer told me when I rang back to chase ebay. No one has a clue!!

Hey guys. How its meant to work is this.... you buy something through paypal using afterpay. So its set up that you pay 4 equal payments over 4 fortnights.... if there is an issue with your purchase and you require a refund, the money is refunded to Afterpay, who then reduce your fortnightly payments and/or refund the remaining to your personal bank card/account. If you google paypal refund through afterpay, that'll help. Hope this has helped a bit.
