Dear PayPal Community,
I am an old and loyal PayPal user that has had only positive experiences with this service and would like this to remain so.
Regarding my current "case":
I have purchased a pair of shoes on eBay, with PayPal's option "pay after receive article" activated.
So far so good!
I have received the pair of shoes, unfortunately they were a number too small in size to fit properly.
All well! After friendly further contact with the seller, they said I can of course return the package and receive them a number larger - they were already reserved.
Alright - after sending the package back to sender, perhaps due to the COVID-19 desaster or God knows what, the package was again returned to sender, this time back to ME. The initial package I wanted to return.
Meanwhile, I get a notice from German "Inkasso-Unternehmen" infoscore Forderungsmanagement GmbH, that "PayPal has ordered them to get my overdue payment".
Well, due to obvious multiple complications in the ordering process, I HAVEN'T RECEIVED THE FINAL ARTICLE yet, so I am not in the wrong here!!
I was travelling and have received no phone call on my mobile phone as some employees of PayPal have stated on here, is common practice in case of a payment problem.
The initial sum, which I of course am ready to pay as soon as the transaction has finished, with the initial "pay after receive" option in mind, is 89.95€.
On top of that, infoscore Forderungsmanagement GmbH asks for 0.08€ "damage", 58.50€ cost of handling fee for infoscore Forderungsmanagement GmbH and a further 11.70€ for "postal and telecommunications rate".
Which comes to a total of 160.23€, completely to be paid to them, instead of to PayPal and with an added sum of 70.28€.
I am not going to pay this ridiculous price, as I want to pay the sum of 89.95€ directly to PayPal, as initially planned, once I receive my final pair of shes and the transaction, "pay after receive" is therefor complete, there has been no damage done nor any violation of prior agreement as there were some obvious complications along the route and would like to know from the community, what advice they can give me on this.
I am going to call them this afternoon, to get their direct and personal opinion regarding this "case".
Furthermore, the e-mail from 5 days ago and the letter I received today, warned me that if I don't pay the sum of 160.23€ to them, they are gonna advise PayPal to sue me through the court system.
Your thoughts?
Kindest regards
