Does a declined pay in 4 transaction automatically take full payment from the card on file?

If a pay-in-4 transaction is not approved, does PayPal then automatically take the full payment from the card on file? Or does the transaction need to be done again and the card chosen as the payment method?

Hi @ConfusedSam and welcome,

When you are making a payment using PayPal you will be shown what funding source will be used before confirming the payment. If you have tried to use Pay in 4 and this option isn't available, it will then choose another funding source that is available. This funding source such as a card or bank account will be shown to you before you confirm the payment. This allows you to always see where the funds will come from before clicking confirm.

I hope this answers your question for you,

Paula
