Why can't I pay my PayPal Credit payments with a debit card?

I have a balance in PayPal credit and I used to make payments via my debit card. I would set a day to pay and it would debit my bank account the next working day - very quick and helped me stay on top of my transactions. This month I tried to do this and I wasn't offered the option of any of the debit cards I have registered to PayPal, only bank accounts. I reluctantly paid, two separate payments using my account, but the first took 4 days to go through and the second took 7, which is a ridiculously long time and nearly resulted in me using money in my bank account that was "already pad" to PayPal. Can PayPal just allow me to just use my debit cards as before please? I have had no issues, always pay more than the minimum and on time etc. Thanks.

Hi @sallyannbear

Thank you for sharing this with us. Generally, if your cards are active and there are no issues with them you should have the option to use them as normal. Has anything changed with your cards? Do they need to be updated? I would check this to be sure.

It could also have been our internal security system not giving the option to use the cards. This is put in place to protect accounts however it can at times restrict genuine transactions. If the cards are up to date and you are logging in from a secure location then you should be given the option next time.

I hope this helps,
