Trying this again because PayPal keeps stopping me from posting complaints!
So I have a PayPal Credit account and have been taking advantage of special financing by paying my balance due as often as I can. Payment for my balance due posted on August 26th, but my available credit was frozen at $2.00. After TWO DAYS of chat messages, phone calls, and massive aggravation, I finally reached a human who explained that my account was put on a security hold FOR MAKING A PAYMENT! Why would you put a security hold on my account when I paid my bill? The representative couldn't answer, so she transferred me to her supervisor, Sarah, who was very rude and said she couldn't explain the reason to me either. Sarah went on to say that she doesn't make the rules, that it's the policy. When I asked to speak to someone who could explain the policy, Sarah told me that I had to speak to the CEO or the Chairman of the Board. I also want to note that I initially asked for a copy of the policy in writing or a written explanation be sent to me because I assumed the first representative be able to answer my question. In an effort to be helpful, she transferred me to Sarah who was openly rude and basically just tried to get rid of me. Well congratulations, Sarah! I'm closing my PayPal credit account and as soon as I change the autopayments I pay through PayPal, I'm closing that, too! It has been almost impossible to get live human help, and the "help" I did reach was not helpful at all! Aside from the useless and rude customer service, I'm also very upset that according to Sarah, it's PayPal policy not to notify customers when a security hold has been put on their account. So I only found out when a payment was declined and I investigated and noticed that my available credit hadn't been increased. Since I have my bank account attached, the payment was taken from there, but I had a known I didn't have available credit, I would have used another credit account, nit cash from my checking account. this has been an all around nightmare and PayPal doesn't care. They have thoroughly eroded my trust in them!
