I have a personal account and I want to set recurring payments to non-profit organizations, like volunteer animal sanctuaries. How can I set a recurring payment ie monthly?

Hey @mbz70,

I see you're looking to set up recurring payment towards the shelter. The option to set up automatic payments is not available. Only the charity organizer has the option to allow the recurring payments. You can reach out to the charity support team for the automatic payments option.

Best wishes,

Bindu

Hi @mbz70

Welcome to the PayPal Community! I understand your concern to set up recurring payment for a donation to non-profit organization. While making the donation, you can select the monthly check box to give automatic monthly payments

I hope the provided information is helpful you.

After entering the paypal email address of the non-profit organization (ie local stray animals shelters), there is no area anywhere in the process that allows you to make the payment recurring, ie monthly.

Hi everyone! Thank you for visiting the PayPal Community Forum! Thanks @S_Ameen for getting a resolution started on this thread. We appreciate all your time and help!

@mbz70, welcome! I'm sorry to hear you're running into some issues making that donation a monthly agreement. I just researched a couple rescues I normally donate to, and I think I found the road-blocks you're running into.

When you make a donation through the PayPal Giving Fund, it looks like that's going to a one-time donation. However, if the organization you're donating to has a Donate button setup on their website, you should see the checkbox there to "make this a monthly donation".

My apologies for the confusion, I hope that helps!

I will give you an example of what I want to do.

I have the email of a cat shelter, to whom I want to send 5€ monthly.

The shelter does not have a site with a DONATE button.

So, I enter the shelter email, I choose the amount, and I get two options, "send funds to friends/family" and "buy from a buyer".

Next step, is choosing the source of fund ie which card or bank account, and then the transfer is completed, without any mention of repeating the transaction automatically on regular basis.

So if we setup a recurring donation... but it looks like a one-time donation. How do we cancel the recurring donation?

Hello @eldenf

Welcome to the PayPal Community Help and thanks for posting here!

I see you're looking to cancel the recurring payments in your PayPal account. You cancel the recurring payments by going to the settings page and selecting the merchant/charity in the Manage Automatic Payments under the payments tab. You can find more details about recurring/automatic payments here.

Best wishes,

Bindu

The problem is... when I look under automatic payments, I do not see the merchant... or any sign at all that I've enrolled in automatic payments to them. Even though I did check the checkbox to make the donation a monthly thing.
