Argos pay in 3

I made multiple attempts to use pay in 3 at Argos and it failed when I hit the button to connect payment method. I have an Amex card in my PayPal account does pay in 3 need a bank debit card associated rather than credit card?

How do I make my repayments?

After your initial payment, your 2 subsequent repayments will be taken automatically from the confirmed payment method you provided at the time of application. Accepted repayment methods for Pay in 3 loans are Debit card or Bank account linked to your PayPal account. Currently, your PayPal balance can't be used for repayments.
