Billing address not found!

Been trying to buy needed parts for printer. Have used pay in 4 countless times, and have always had the same billing address. Now getting error message that says, "can't identify this address" and my pay in 4 request fails. Called support and they only said, "it's broken". Am I missing something here, is anyone else having billing address problems?

Hello @AlwaysUltra

Welcome to the PayPal Community Forum! I'm sorry to hear you've run into some issues using PayPal's Pay in 4. I can certainly understand how it must be a bit frustrating. While I understand this is not a generic payment decline, I would recommend trying the steps in this Help Center article to get started: Why was my payment declined?

If you're still unable to make that purchase with Pay in 4 at that time, I might recommend trying another funding source for that transaction.

Good luck and best wishes!

I use paypal for a specific reason, it's not a matter of the finances, nor lack of another payment method. I am preparing to start a sales flow on ebay. I have been getting strange errors for the last 2 weeks when ebay attempts to payout small amounts too my paypal via my paypal debit link. Messages telling me that my billing address must match that on file with the merchant. Which it does, nothing has changed. Now, I get in a slight pinch and want to use one of the tools that paypal has available to me. And for some unknown reason, the tool not only fails on the vendor site I am trying to use, but every vendors site. Therefore, I'm not going to start a sales movement, depending on the paypal platform, if a problem like this can't even be corrected. I don't want to move to another platform, I like paypal. I've used this platform for years, I would like to have a platform that I can depend on to correct problems like this when they pop up. But now I've basically been told in a roundabout way, we're sorry better luck next time.

I RESCIND MY ORIGINAL POST!!!!!!
I SINCERELY APOLOGIZE TOO PAYPAL AS A WHOLE!!!!!
The major issue that was seemingly coming from the PayPal system. Has been in fact traced back too the USPS! With no notification, and without correction USPS has somehow completely wiped my billing address from existence. My residential address is not even listed with the USPS as a location now. For reasons that they cannot explain, multiple residences in my area have "gone missing". Leaving me and many others to have to completely re-register our physical addresses, which I use for my primary billing address. Just as if we have put a home on a previously unknown address, and had to register, verify and be issued a new address. This is officially the strangest thing I have ever seen happen with this government service. I am so so sorry for adamantly placing blame on PayPal for this crazy problem.

Hi @AlwaysUltra

This sounds like a frustrating situation and definitely a strange one. There is no need to apologize at all. Just glad you got to the bottom of it.

Thank so much for sharing the update as it may help another member that is experiencing the same issue.

Thanks

Paula

I have the same problem. I do not have Physical Mail Delivery, so USPS does not have my physical address. I use POBox. And this has been a problem in the past, with Target and other stores that uses UPS when UPS gives up three cities south of me and give the package to USPS which USPS says “not in system”.

I have use “Pay in 4” multiple times, and now I can not because PayPal uses USPS to look for my physical address which USPS does not do physical delivery due to lack of delivery route drivers since 1970s. My area tried to get delivery, but in late 1990s, USPS said we have to pay for the installation of block boxes since their funds are tied up for new development until 2040. So, instead, USPS gives my neighborhood free PO Boxes.

this is not really a fair thing. I have always used physical and PO Box together. Now I can not with PayPal.

this should be fixed so people in my situation can use the same service everyone else has.

Well, I contacted USPS and explained my issue to them. They said they would add my residential address. Well 3 weeks later my address was showing up in a USPS address search. But, it had a new designation number added to it. I entered this new number into the address verification for pay in 4, exactly as USPS has it formatted in my official address. They have it hyphenated following my zip code, like a PO BOX. Still can't use pay in 4, I have tried implementing this new number countless ways, into the address verification. But nothing works, so I don't know what to do now, USPS has done their part. I guess I'm just SOL.

I would probably have to do the same as I live close to a Post Office, but you’re saying that having your address recognized by the USPS didn’t even resolve the issue? Can someone from PayPal please resolve this issue already! I miss paying in 4…
