Can't use payment plans anymore

I have been using the payment plan option for a number of years now and have paid everything off except for a couple larger items I purchased last year, which I'm still making payments faithfully on. However, I tried to purchase a rare guitar off of Reverb that was quite expensive using the PayPal payment plan and it seemed like the application didn't go through, so I tried again. I then received two denial notices, I'm assuming because the guitar put me at my limit? Not exactly sure what that is.

Anyways, fast forward a couple weeks later, and I came across another guitar that was half the price and I applied for it, again I was denied. Which is really surprising since I have never missed a payment and have paid all the other stuff off.

Now, the option for PayPal payment plans doesn't even show up anymore, on any store. Simply out of curiosity and not looking to buy anything, I tried checking out at multiple stores I know accept this form of PayPal payment and the option doesn't show up. I'm curious if it's because those three attempts that were denied within the month have put a flag on the account and the system disabled the option? Too much activity?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hello @telleslikeitis,

Welcome to our community page and thank you for your post!

Sorry for the inconvenience! I am afraid that PayPal payment plans are not available for certain merchants and goods. If the plan is not getting approved, you can still use PayPal to check out securely with other payment methods in your wallet.

I hope this helps!
