I was denied for Pay in 4 when should I try again?

I've been using Pay in 4 for a while now. Recently I had one last payment stall a bit due to low funds in my account so I was "late" for a few days. Got it all settled but when I tried to apply for another Pay in 4 I got denied for too many "declined" results. I already use PayPal a lot for monthly bills and payments, so I figure I have to work back the system's trust. I've looked online and seen people say "try again in x days or x months" all different timeframes but about when would be a good time should pass before I try again? Thank you and sorry if this is in the wrong spot.

Hi there

It's good you use your PayPal account a lot, that will help get back your Pay in 4 quicker imo. Problem is any late or missed or insufficient funds payment problem will pretty much automatically deny you for awhile for Pay in 4 opportunities. Plus when it does approve you again it'll most likely have a much lower amount than you used to be able to have.

As for the time it takes to either show up for you as an option or for you to get approved again? Nobody can pinpoint it, PayPal's internal system does a bunch of checks and their algorithms will decide eventually to let you use it again. And make sure you open your PayPal app(won't work on PC) and you will be able to see a Prequalified Amount that you can use for Pay in 4. For some people they won't be able to see a prequalified amount, others like me can see one. Mine 7 months ago was $300, then it went to $400 and then $500 and literally 2 weeks ago it went right to $1500 the max and it feels great to have that. I have 7 plans currently open and my prequalified amount on the app still shows $1500. Why? I'm sure because I've built up a lot of trust with PayPal by never missing a payment.

Bottom line from my experience reading and learning all about PayPal and using it a lot - DON'T MISS ANY PAYMENTS AT ALL ON YOUR PAY IN 4 PLANS!! That's the easiest way for PayPal to stop giving you the Pay in 4 or Pay Monthly perks that so many want to use. You gotta make sure these Pay in 4 plans are ALWAYS paid off and paid off on time. If not, you won't be seeing them offered to you

Sorry to Necro but I ran into a similar situation. I had the max amount 1500 and was always pre qualified. But one day after having a very high amount of transactions it stopped me due to "unusual activity" and now I can't use it anymore. I'm hoping after I pay off the ridiculous amount of pay in 4s I have I get back to 1500 and the offer back. But I knew something was up when I checked one day and the amount lowered to 800 I thought that was odd. Then boom denied due to unusual activity. I've never missed a payment so I don't understand why the amount of transactions would affect anything other than "hey someone hacked your card bruh". Which you'd think they'd have a way to verify it is you making all these purchases but they don't. Message center "support" if you can call it that, is no help either.
