Hello @StuL62 and @Gazcally,
Welcome to PayPal Community Forum and thank you for posting!
I am sorry to know that you're not getting PayPal Pay in 3 option and I understand this can be frustrating sometimes. Please be informed that Pay in 3 may not be available for certain merchants. Our system may also decide not to offer PayPal Pay in 3 as an option based on our internal checks. Pay in 3 is decided based on a variety of factors. Our decision process is automated. Some details our system reviews include your financial position, the information you provided within your application, and information about your usage and history with your PayPal account.
Regards,
Ayesha

Your company is a complete joke , take jet 2 , book your holiday with them and pay in 3 is advertised on their holiday page, you spend 30 minutes booking the flight and holiday, inputting all your details and passport information and then you press PayPal pay , you are redirected to PayPal and guess what ? It states this payment option is not available, please return to jet 2 to pay !!
What a way to treat a loyal customer who has been with PayPal for 8 years and never missed a pay in 3 payment and had spent 30 k with various merchants over 3 years.
i have spent hours on the phone to management trying to ascertain why this is happening and get no where, all I hear from PayPal management is your account is in good standing and the facility will reappear at some point etc etc or some merchants do not offer pay in 3 or certain products etc , all a load of bs eh ?
I now encourage all my friends/ family to not use these idiots

Although Pay in 3 is an unregulated payment method, PP should advertise its biggest minus clearly and boldly not in the small print.
After a quick phone call to the pay-in-3 team, the picture is a bit clearer. The biggest minus is that it is a payment method with policies completely controlled by an algorithm, inaccessible to the staff. So you might get the option, and then one day, the algorithm will decide it doesn't like something and will remove it.
I would say to any company that doesn't allow manual override of their credit system that this is cynical and cold behaviour. Maybe 3in1 should be regulated too.
If you are responsible with your money and need to use some instalment program and not offer 3 in 1, I'd say go and use other 0% competitors like Klarna, etc'.
I feel sorry for Paypal's staff who are left with no answers to their clients.
