PayPal Credif Transaction Pending for Delta Airlines

I don’t even know where to start. I spent 3 hours on the phone with Delta and 2 hours on the phone with PayPal. I purchase a plane ticket, it still shows pending on PayPal but after 6 days the ticket completely dropped off Delta’s site. I made fhe purchase again using PayPal credit it’s pending. I called Delta they can’t issue a receipt until PayPal sends the payment. PayPal is saying Delta needs to accept the payment. I am extremely frustrated and this is my birthday trip I need confirmation that I am in fact going. Neither Delta or PayPal will help me. This is terrible.

Simply do not use their stupid service to purchase a Delta ticket. I did 5 transactions, and none of them went through, I spent over 5 hours being tossed around from Paypal Credit Synchrony Bank and Pay pal security. They both had no clue what is going. Use a standard credit card to make your purchase. It will service you much better, and avoid this stupid stress Paypal service.

Totally agree. That’s what I did after I spent about 3 days going back and forth.

I am on my second go-round trying to buy tickets on Delta using PayPal Credit. The first time the charge was 'pending' on my PayPal account and the tickets were showing up on my Delta account as confirmed but not issued. I talked with PayPal Credit, Syncrony Bank, and Delta more times than I want to admit. I really thought the bug was that I tried to add trip insurance and got an error message saying I could not use PP for trip insurance. So once the charge has disappeared from my PayPal account I thought I would try again, without the insurance, and surely it would go through, right? It didn't. It won't ever. It doesn't work. But you will never convince anyone at PayPal or Delta that they have a problem, so I guess they are right, they don't. They both suck on this issue.

Hi @Star56789, @provyh, and @mobetterblues

Thank you all for your posts and for joining the PayPal Community. I'm sorry that you've had a difficult time with purchasing an airline ticket. I'll be happy to shed some light on what's happening.

When you make a purchase on a merchant's website, it often involves an authorization for the amount of the transaction. The authorization must be accepted as a charge by the merchant in order to be fully processed. If the merchant does not put the charge through, the authorization will fall off after 30 days.

It sounds as if the merchant's website had a glitch and the payment wasn't captured, and therefore not processed on their end. In a case like this, the merchant would have to actually go into their PayPal account and either capture or cancel the authorization, or the full 30 days would have to elapse to have the authorization clear. PayPal cannot interfere with the authorization before one of those things occurs.

I'm sorry that you've experienced this. I hope this can be resolved for you through the merchant.

Olivia

No it wasn’t a glitch PayPal doesn’t allow you to buy international flight tickets (to AFRICA) with your own PayPal account. Racist and discriminatory **bleep** service. That’s why my payments didn’t go through
