GOOGLE PLAY STORE AND PAYPAL

When I tried to buy an app via Google Play Store, I got to the point where I  had to enter my PayPal password and it said "password incorrect".

After several attempts, it alerted PayPal and I was locked out of PayPal.

I followed the PayPal security route and re-established my status and changed my password.

I have since tried to buy a Play Store app but I got the same response.

I don't want to keep trying since I don't want to risk being locked out again.

I have successfully used PayPal in the past but it was four years ago.

I have just recently got a new phone and I am wondering if some old settings are still "lurking" and causing the problem.

Does anyone have any suggestions or answers?

Try clearing out the autofill password data for PayPal in your browser and clear browser cache and history and restart your device. You may want to wait a day or two to try again after doing this just to let the security system cool down and reset. Hope this works. Good luck!

Thanks for the response.

I dont allow my browser (Chrome) to autofill my Paypal password at sign in.

However, it does autofill my username.

Do you know how I could alter that?

  1. Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar and select Settings.
  2. Click “Show advanced settings” and find the “Passwords and forms” section.
  3. Select Manage Autofill settings.
  4. In the dialog that appears, select the entry you'd like to delete from the list.
