PAYPAL POOL CONTRIBUTION FEES

What are the fees for making a contribution to a pool as a guest using a credit card? I have a pool. A non-Paypal person made a $10 contribution and was charged 59 cents. Translates to 5.9% !!!! If someone makes a $1000 contribution the fee would be $59.  Not OK. Is there a cap to the fee?

I been to that link. The answer is to click "here". It goes to a page about fees, on which I must not understand. It doesn't say "pools" anywhere. What am I missing? Thanks.

It doesn't have to say ''pools'' they already told you in the link that pools are ''gift'' ie family/friends payments.

So you read up on the fees for f/f payments which is on the page when you click 'here'.

I read it. Here's what I got. "Sales within the US: 2.9% + $0.30". The math works, but are you saying when someone contributes as a guest to my pool, the contribution is considered a "Sales within the US"? And there is no cap? So if I get a $1,000 contribution, the contributor will pay 2.9% + $0.30 (or $29.30)?  Or is it further down the page, "Sending in the US"? Is a non-Paypal account holder who is using a credit card to contribute to my pool (in US currency, therefore the "fixed fee" table doesn't apply) considered a "friend or family" sending me money? In this scenario the 2.9% math doesn't work. The contributor to my pool was charged $0.59 for her $10 contribution, a 5.9% fee. So if I get a $1000 contribution, the fee to the contributor would be $59. Not good, to much. The info at the "here" link is too much of a puzzle without a section that simply saying "here's what contributors to pools will be charged".

Oh dear, try SCROLLING down the page until you get to the FAMILY / FRIENDS bit on the page > sending in the U.S table of fees.

Well I'm totally confused. First, that FAQ link above takes me to "The page you're looking for is no longer available" but, at least in Australia, our PPMP information says:

You can chip in for free*

Setting up a Money Pool is totally free*. And there's no hidden cost for friends chipping in with their PayPal balance, debit card, credit card or bank account. Fees will apply if there's a currency conversion involved.

*Free when sending money to an Australian account from an Australian account in AUD."

I paid in AUD to AUD, and was STILL charged 5.6% ... I queried it with PP and the 'dispute' was closed as it was an authorised transaction. The transaction WAS authorised and legitimate - but the fee wasn't! 

They won't let me ask again as the transaction case is considered 'closed' - wtf!?

I was charged a fee - can you please tell me why.
