Hi everyone,
I am trying to build a website and integrate Mass Payment. It is an Australian website (wordpress build) that will be transacting AUD to AUD.
My understanding is that Mass Payment applies a 2% transaction fee, capped at $1.25 per transaction. I have a business paypal account that has been approved for Mass Payment functionality.
My web developers have advised that they have built in the MassPayment API/function correctly. We have run some transactions in sandbox mode and the fees applying are being capped at $AUD16 per transaction rather than $AUD1.25. I've hit a standpoint with the developers, as they have said the issue is on PayPals side rather than anything that they have built into the website. They are advising that if we were to launch the website into a live environment the fee cap of $1.25 should apply, but it is not possible for them to show the $1.25 fee cap in sandbox mode. I am hesitant to launch the website unless we can show in sandbox mode that the Mass Payment transactions, including the applicable fees, are working as expected.
My questions are:
1. On the correct build of the Mass Payment API on an Australian website, then a $AUD1.25 fee cap should apply for AUD to AUD transactions processed in sandbox mode?
2. Is there any way that PayPal would be setting a $16 fee cap in contrast to a $1.25 fee cap and this is what is causing the issue?
My fees link that I use is https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/ua/cfsgpds-full#int_18_Fees_and_charges
Any help, guidance or information would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all,
Travis

Hello Travis,
Via API, these fees are not set nor influenced.
It would be best to call customer support and ask about the pricing and fees, they can check this for you.
Regards,
Stefan
