Online peer to peer marketplace

I'm trying to develop a peer to peer online marketplace similar to Etsy or eBay where casual sellers list physical items for sale on the site. Can PayPal Checkout be used to facilitate payments between buyers and sellers? I see that you can set custom payee on orders to an email address but it is not clear if this is suitable for the online market use case or whether application for access to the PayPal commerce platform APIs will be required required. Thanks in

Hi @Tom1994,

Thank you for contacting PayPal community.

We apologize for any inconvenience.

You should Integrate MarketPlace product, in order to split the payments.

In 2018, PayPal has introduced PayPal for Marketplaces, a new product solution as an alternative to Adaptive Payments. With your business model, you can consider Marketplaces as a possible interim solution, and to learn more about the Marketplaces product can refer to the following link:

https://developer.paypal.com/docs/commerce-platform/

Unfortunately, we MTS don't have the account access available to approve/enable MarketPlace feature for merchant accounts.

I request to please fill the MarketPlace application via below link.

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/partner-program/contact-us?ref=marketplace

Our Partners team will be reviewing your business details and contact you accordingly.

Note : PayPal for Marketplaces is a limited-release solution at this time. It is available to select partners for approved use cases.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,
Chiranjeevi
