Discover Card not being accepted

My customer is trying to pay with their Discover card and they get this message...
The card you entered cannot be used for this payment. Please enter a different credit or debit card number.
Any help will be appreciated.

I too am having this same problem. I am not sure if it is a discover, but my client is receiving this error message.

My client called Discover and they said there was nothing wrong on their end.
PayPal told me that there was nothing wrong on their end either.
Seems like noone wants to take responsibility!

I am having the same problem. My Discover Card is registered, but it does not show as a payment option and I can't make payment with it. Why? Pay Pal advertises to accept Discover Card. Explanations are needed from Pay Pal.

No resolution.
The only thing it might be is the mailing address on the card...but i doubt that is the problem since multiple people are having problems.

I called Pay Pal and it has to do with linking the Discover Card with Pay Pal...it is not enough to just enter a new card on the payment type page. It is a whole involved process that takes 3 days for Discover to send you a code that you then have to confirm with Pay Pal to complete the link. They charge Discover a refundable $1.95 with the code and if you do not have an on line Discover account you have to wait for the next paper Discover statement to get the code. Looks like it is done to drive business to their own Smart Pay Pal Credit Accounts to me.
