WHERE IS MY DEBIT CARD REFUND? My Bank always posts them the same day!

Paypal says the credit to my check card (Visa type - not credit card) is complete since a day ago, and It's still not showing up on my bank account. My bank is probably the fastest at posting. I usually see credits/debits immediately. The purchase I made (via eBay/Paypal)  AFTER the Paypal credit is already deducted from my bank account. Why isn't the credit showing up? Paypal cust service (India) told me today that sometimes Paypal holds the credits for up to a month. I can understand a day or two when it's a sale I'm benefiting from, and when it's a bank account, but not when it's a credit back to my card. That is using my money without my permission. What's going on here? Last time I had to go through my bank to force Paypal to get the credit on my account, because Paypal was so slow. Will I have to do that again?

Hi shadowbird.

I am sorry for the delay in receiving the credit to your bank account.  It can take up to 30 days for the credit to show on your statement, but in most cases you should see the credit with in a few business days in your bank account.

Since it has been a few days since you posted this message, has it been resolved, or are you still unable to see the credit?

I was wondering the same thing.  I think the problem from the consumer's viewpoint, at least in my case, the eBayer that I dealt with misrepresented both the product and his business.  So when we see our "account has been refunded" and then go to our online banking account and it's not posted it is a result of our bad dealing with 3rd party. 

For the OP, Paypal has helped me the only other time that I encountered a shady character and helped me recoup my monies.  So, it's worth the wait believe me.

I am having the same problem with a refund to my debit card.  Supposedly I was refunded for my purchase the same day I paid, which was October 30th, it is now November 16th and it still hasn't shown up on my statement.  Can't file a dispute because Paypal sez it has been refunded and the transaction shows that it has been  refunded.  But it has not been refunded to my Bank account as of yet.  I don't like having to do this,  i contacted the seller and she said she sent an immediate refund, I asked her to please check and make sure it went thru on her end and she sez it has...HELP what else do I need to do?

For those interested in credit/debit card refunds -

I'm sorry your credit hasn't posted yet - I would be worried too!  If your payment was automatically refunded back to your card issuer, it may take card issuer up to 48 hours to process, settle, and receive the funds.  Thereafter, it is the responsibility of the card issuer to post the credit.  This should occur within a maximum of 30 days, but it will most likely be before your next statement.  This timeframe is determined by the card issuer.  If you haven't received it after 14 business days, let PayPal customer service know and they can run a trace for you.
