ASOS Paypal funds 'pending'

I ordered some boots from Asos over 2 weeks ago, I had to cancel them as I ordered them with the wrong delivery method.

I placed the order again, then got an email from ASOS telling me they were out of stock so I would be refunded.

Both payments went via Paypal. While one payment has been refunded and shows as a refund on my paypal and on my bank statement, the other is just 'pending' and has been for 2 weeks.

I contacted ASOS who confirmed no money has been debited from my account, however The money was taken at the time I placed my order, I know this because I only had enough in my account to make this order twice. Afterwards there was nothing left.

My bank say there are no pending payments on my account, ASOS say I haven't been debited, but my available funds in my bank and paypal payment 'pending' proves otherwise.

When will these funds be released? Seeing as though I a desperate for my money back!!!

Thanks

Hi leannebark,

Welcome to our community page.

I am sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

An ‘Order’ is an agreement between you and a merchant for a purchase of a specified amount. It is used when a merchant wants to delay taking a payment. The funds are not taken from your account straight away.

For example: The merchant may use the Order feature if they need to check if the item is in stock before taking your payment.

The payment will appear in your account with a status of ‘Pending’ until the merchant completes the order and takes payment. The status will then change to ‘Complete’. If you wish to cancel an order you must contact the merchant to do so. It is not possible to cancel an order from your PayPal account.

I hope this info helps!
