Pending payment - Money not sent

Hi, i bought something a week ago, and ever since then the payment has been marked as "Pending" on paypal. After contacting the merchant they have said that the order hasnt even gone through. So how can i cancel the "pending" payment? Or just remove it from my summary. (I checked for a cancel button like others have said on different posts but there wasnt one)

The transaction status is ‘Pending’ until the merchant completes your order. Usually, the merchant has 29 days to complete your order. You can see the exact expiry date in the Transaction's details. If the merchant doesn’t complete your order before it expires, then your order is cancelled and the transaction status changes to ‘Void.’ Alternatively the merchant can cancel the order on their side, this button is available to them on their PayPal Account and once they have cancelled the order the status will change to "Void"
