Royal Mail Postage Refund

Hi all,

On the 6th July I bought and cancelled a Royal Mail postage label. I was under the assumption that it would take circa 5 days for this refund to be processed. As yet it is still showing as "Refund Pending". How long do I have to wait before I can escalate things further?

I'm very sorry to hear you need to wait for your refund longer than you’ve expected.

May I ask if you have initiated the original payment via Direct Debit (bank account)?

 

In that situation the refund may take a bit longer than usually as PayPal need to first receive funds from the original payment from your bank and then the money can be instantly released to your PayPal balance.

 

The reason behind it is that when you fund your transaction from bank account, PayPal doesn’t wait for funds to be transferred but it credits you to instantly complete the transaction. When the refund is issued before PayPal will receive the original transaction from bank it needs to be held until your bank will send funds.

Hi Anna,

 

I have funds in my PayPal account which I used to pay for the postage label. I requested a cancellation of the label and a refund through Paypal.

It is still just saying "Refund Pending" when I click the transaction.
