Hi.
On the 11/4/15 I placed a bet on the grand national and paid by paypal. On the 14/4/15 I decided to put £10 in an account with them as the previoius transaction was simple and fast.
The payment option was available to pay via paypal which I did, as I had no problem the previous time.
William Hill then decided that I had to verify my details.
Unfortunately I had moved house in january and they claim that they couldn't confirm the details from my previous address even though I had lived there for 20 yrs.
To cut a long story short I asked them to refund the £10 back to my paypal account as it was too much hassle setting up an account when I could go to a betting shop...their loss not mine.
They have ignored all my requests to date and still have my £10.
Can Paypal help me get my money back.
Any advice please about how to go about i?

How did you pay?
1. Goods / services OR
2. Family / friends?
How did you fund it?
1. Instant bank transfer or funds in your paypal balance?
2. Debit or credit card?

Kudos / Solution appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure if there were any funds in my paypal account but if not it would have come from my debit card account which is linked to paypal and ebay.

Sorry, didnt realise.
I've just been onto their website and the banner across the bottom offers a variety of payment options and the timescale for each.
The paypal one has a minimum payment of £10 with immediate effect.
This is the one I used but I dont know how it would be classed...as far as I was concerned it was from my funds or my bank account to be able to place a bet with them.
Incidentally when I did my grand national bet there were no questions or any mention of verification details. then...I could have been a ten year old who'd lied about their age.

OK then go and file for non receipt of item via the "resolve a problem link" bottom left of your paypal summary page.
As its a "service" a refund is not guaranteed but you have a good chance.
Put in what has happened and escalate to a claim.
IF for any reason you don't get a refund then contact your card company and see if they will chargeback for you, as its a debit and not a credit card then it will only be done as a "goodwill gesture" most probably.
But try both ways but wait till paypal have decided first before you try your card, if you don't try you don't get.

Thanks for the help I will start with that.
I think they are pretty bombproof though because they are registered in Gibralter.
