refund completed but money not in my account !

I had a refund for £39.90 from a phamacy and it shows on my paypal account that it has been refunded and was completed but paypal have not put it back into my account and i have now 0.00 balance were has my money gone ? And why have you took since 21.07.13 when the refund was completed and still waiting for paypal to put the money back in my account for what i was refuded for. Can someone get back to me as soon as possible .

I'm having the same problem. I cancelled a payment as I was asked to by the other side, it says on the statement I have cancelled but my PayPal acc is still empty?! If you find out any answers would be great to know Thanks kelly

To the first poster.

If you funded the original paypal payment to the seller with a debit or credit card then it won't go back to your paypal balance.

Once marked as completed it will automatically go back to your bank account or credit card but takes up to a week to process through to the bank and a bit longer for a c.c.

To the second poster.

When you pay a seller it is never instant > paypal credit the seller for you and then start the process of uploading your funds to paypal from your funding source.

So when you cancel that payment (as the seller can't accept it), those funds can't do a u-turn > they have to process through to paypal who will then either return them to your funding source (if you paid with a debit or credit card), or credit your paypal balance (if it was funded frm your balance or instant bank transfer), but that takes a few days and sometimes up to a week.

Thanks for your help. I paid with my PayPal acc. My balance always says 0.00 but its taken from my bank that the PayPal is linked too, so will the money go bk into my bank or will it say I have money in my PayPal acc? Hope that makes sense Thanks kelly

Kelly was it taken from your bank via instant bank transfer or via your debit card??

I'm a tad confused. I use my iPhone and my PayPal acc is linked. When I buy something it gives me the option to "pay with PayPal" and I just click that it then pays the person!! I assume PayPal take it from my bank acc but I still select PayPal. Does that make more sense?

It depends what funding source you have linked to your paypal account.

When you joined did you just add a debit card to fund your paypal payments OR

did you add your actual bank account and set up the direct debit mandate so you could fund the payments direct from your bank account??

I am going to guess you just added your debit card and if I am right then your cancelled payment will automatically go back there but as i said in an earlier post it has to process through to paypal and then they send it back again and that can take "up to" a week.

If it was instant bank transfer then there is another answer but i think i have chosen the one for you as it does sound as if you only added a debit card.

To check you can go to the profile tab in your paypal account > my money > and see what you have got as funding options.

This didn't clear the question. The question is, we were refunded a credited amount of the sales purchase to PayPal from eBay, and PayPal lists it in the account as "completed " plus the amount in green that's been credited. However, the available balance is still ZERO. Get it? Is it stealing? Because many tweets on twitter say PayPal steals money. I will be sure to get rid of this account after I get my money. PayPal should be shut down.

Why? What is your problem? You should get your refund ok but they are never instant !!

Depends on when you paid the seller / when you were refunded / how you funded that paypal payment in the first place etc etc.
