does anyone know what happens to a refund sent to a closed bank account?
I paid for an item part with pp balance and part with debit card, i also closed my bank account a few days later as i was in the process of switching to a different bank.
later the seller had to refund me because he broke the item just before posting, he refunded me, i got my pp refund, the rest of the refund went to my now close debit card attached to my old bank account.
he refunded me on the 19/5, it's now 26/5 and nothing has appeared on my new bank account.
now i have a letter that says payments sent to your old bank account after the switch will be redirected to your new account.
i have no experience with this. does anyone know where my money has gone? has it gone back to the seller? or does it just take long to be redirected?
or do i need to contact my bank?

Hi photoshothis,
A PayPal refund will always go back to the card you paid with. If that card has been cancelled it is up to the bank involved to move the money to where it should be. If they have said they will send things on to your new bank account that should happen but it might take a little longer than a refund would normally take.
What sometimes happens is that they can't find where to put the money. If that happens they return the refund to us and we will add the funds to your PayPal balance.
It might be a good idea to contact your old bank just to check up on it but the but don't worry the funds won't be lost.
I hope this helps.
Rachael
