Action required: Update your information for tax reporting

Paypal asked for a new W-9 form in an email "Action required: Update your information for tax reporting" and I'm suppose to

 

1. Download a U.S. IRS W-9 tax form. Complete and sign the form.
2. Log in to your PayPal account.
3. Then, follow the instructions within the alert notification bell icon to upload the W-9 tax form by September 15, 2019.

 

I'm ready to go with the update info but do not have any instructions within my alerts.

 

1. How/where do I view notification history? or

2. How/where do I update the W-9?

I found the answer! It wasn't easy but after digging....

B-Notice Tips:

  • Fully complete and sign the relevant form and upload it by logging into your PayPal account and following the Notification prompt.

     

    I hope this can help anyone else with the same trouble.

I got this message from PayPal a month ago.  I uploaded a new W9 and got a response within a few hours telling me that everything was OK.

 

Now I'm getting an email message once a week that tells me that my tax information doesn't match IRS records and that I need to upload a new W9.  I also see a banner that tells me this every time I log into PayPal.

 

But when I click "Resolve It Now" on the banner, it simply takes me to my PayPal dashboard.  Clicking on the link in the email message does the same thing.

 

I think this is a non-problem, as I resolved it a month ago.  I've called PayPal twice and all they can suggest is that I upload it again.

 

Very strange.
