Charged by Spotify without my consent. How do I locate their merchant ID so Spotify can resolve it?

I don't know what's going on anymore, but I've certainly lost my trust in PayPal. I have no records of any accounts with Spotify, yet I just got charged a premium fee by them last night for $9.99 without my consent or acknowledgement. PayPal refuses to refund it (ridiculous), the Spotify chat agent was trying to help, but they need Spotify's merchant ID number that would appear on the statement. I can't access the statement, though I've requested it, I'm not sure if it would even show up. It's not showing up anywhere else and I've waited over 12 hours for PayPal to reply without an automated bot. 

Is there another way to find their merchant ID number so Spotify can refund me?

Also, how is this even legal? It's straight up theft.

Check if you had a subscription set up and if so cancel it.
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''
