Invoicing is this lady trying to scam me

So I haven’t sold in awhile .. I listed a dress on Facebook for sale and a lady says she has a business account so I don’t need to invoice her - she wants my email to pay… I was under the impression that in order to be protected I need to invoice her and record the shipping information on the invoice as well as send the item to the same address her PayPal says to…. Am I missing something? I think she’s trying to scam me

She can do it that way since business accounts can only send goods and services payments these days but proceed with caution. Always check your PayPal account for record of payment and open the transaction to see if it says you’re eligible for Seller protection to be sure and enter tracking info there. Scammers can send fake payment email confirmations to trick you into shipping without paying or ask you to pay a fake approval fee or some other fake fee in order to see payment in your PayPal account but really they haven’t paid nor have a PayPal account even. Just bluffing their way through to get you to pay them. That’s the scam.

I do suggest you make use of “Sell on Social” feature to create a link for buyer to use to pay you with if you don’t want to give out your PayPal email address just yet or make a PayPal button exported as email url. If they don’t use that, then it’s time to move on.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂
