Is it too late to stop a transaction im pretty sure is a scam?

I made a mistake trying to buy something off Facebook market place. The seller told me to use Friends and Family as the payment option because of something to do with postage. I dont buy things using paypal like that normally so I did what they asked thinking it was just the norm.

After speaking to a couple of people theyve made it obvious to me that its a scam and you are not protected buying goods like that. It is showing me in my activity page that the money has been sent but the payment is still pending. Is there anyway I can cancel the payment before the seller recieves it or is it too late? Or is there anything I can do?

If i click on the transaction in paypal it doesnt give me a cancel option even though its pending.

Thank you for any help.

If you funded your paypal payment via your bank account then speak to your bank and see if they can reverse the funds for you?

Hi @kernowlass ,

Thank you for your reply. After calling paypal they also told me to call the bank and that the bank can cancel the transaction and the payment will just get declined. So I just spoke to my bank, they said its up to paypal to cancel the payment but after I explained to them what paypal told me, they said that the payment is not showing as a pending payment yet so they cannot cancel it. But the operator told me to call back when I see the payment pending in my bank account.

So I've got my fingers crossed that they will be able to do so, I feel pretty stupid but I guess its a life lesson if nothing else.
