Hello @TryingToDoSavin

Congratulations on your first post in the Community!

I'm sorry to hear you've been receiving the security codes even though you haven't requested them. I recommend resetting your password by following the instructions on our Help Center here: How do I change my password and security questions? If you continue to receive them, please reach out to our Customer Support teams by clicking 'Contact' at the bottom of our website.

I hope this helps!

@PayPal_Meghan It is helpful to change passwords when this happens but there was no possible reason for this happening. Would it be a hacker?

Hello @janisum,

Welcome back to the Community!

If you're receiving security codes that you didn't request, someone else most likely obtained your login information and was trying to log into the account. However, since they weren't able to access the security code, they wouldn't have been able to log in successfully. If you haven't already set up 2-Step Verification, I recommend doing so here: How do I turn on or off 2-step verification for PayPal account login? 2-Step Verification will ensure you always receive a security code before logging in. Customer Support may need to investigate further if you changed your password and are still receiving codes. You can find the different Customer Support options on our Help Center

Have a beautiful day!

- Meghan

Is there anything Paypal does to track the interloper?  I understand that the double authentication is stopping them right now but as a regular Paypal customer, I would feel safer if Paypal cuts them off from any further attempts, maybe via their IP address.
