"Receiver needs to pay a fee of $.... to complete payment" a scam or legit?

Good evening!

I am waiting to receive money from a sender and he sent me a screenshot stating that the "Transaction is Pending....." and that the "Receiver needs to pay a fee of $... to complete the payment".

Can anyone confirm whether this is real or am I being scammed?

The transaction is for $500 and according to the screenshot, I as the receiver must pay a fee of $62.

Thank you for any assistance!

Of course it’s a scam. Screenshots can be faked. If any transaction fee is applicable/due, PayPal automatically deducts it from the incoming payment and put the rest in your account instantly. You do not pay the fee separately first in order to receive payment.

Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

Thank you for responding! I was also thinking just that. But I haven't been using PayPal in a very long time, especially a business one. I was unsure if some things changed with regards to transaction fees.
