Need to make a payment to an individual not a website or store am i covered this way with buyers protection so I can get a refund in case something goes wrong?

I understand your concern about buyer protection. Friends and Family payments are not covered with PayPal Buyer Protection. These types of payments cannot be disputed. It's important to use the Goods and Services payment option when buying an item or service, to ensure the transaction is protected if any issues arise, we recommend filing a dispute against the transaction to request a refund within 180 days.
