Hello,
I got 2 emails today - 1st saying "reminder you've still got a money request" and 2nd saying "invoice from Black Expo inc"
I don't recognise this as I haven't purchased anything and the email says it's for an item from Apple Store (again I didn't buy anything from apple store)
When I log in to my paypal account, this request is not there but the email is from service @ paypal . com which is a legitimate email so I'm worried that this will be somehow actually charged from my account. I forwarded these to phishing @ paypal . com but is there anything else I can do?
Another suspicious thing is that the email includes a phone number to call which after googling, I believe is not a paypal number
Any help or reassurance that this scam will not be charged from my account will be appreciated. Thank you

If its a spoof then NEVER USE ANY LINK OR ANY PHONE NUMBER.
Firstly if the email/text addressed you as ''Dear Member'' / ''Customer'' / ''Client'' OR your ''email address'' then that confirms its a spoof as paypal would address you by your full name eg Dear John Smith.
Secondly if there was a link OR attachment in that email/text to ''cancel'' any transaction or ''confirm'' any details then again it would be a spoof.
Also if they ask you to call the number in the email then it would be fake paypal agents trying to scam you for money to 'fix' something.
If there was a problem with your account Paypal would not ask you to click on an unsafe link in an email / download an attachment OR phone them on a number in an email, they would direct you to log in normally and go to the resolution or the message centre for more information.

Great job on dissecting the email and seeking outside community to confirm your suspicions. I received the same email and noticed the Service at PayPal as sender which is sneaky as a suspicious user would probably check that first. That had me going roundabout to my account and checking the activity which showed nothing on the secure side of the account. The two emails going hand in hand was strange and just made me that much more aware that my account COULD POSSIBLY be compromised and a free for all going on! Thanks for setting the stage so that those today that received the phish have a location to view other individuals with the same concerns.
Dan
Note: I also had a temporary issue that when i went to log into my PayPal account i got a message that "You Have Been Blocked" came up. Nothing more on the page.

Today I got 2 emails too. The first one sending me an invoice, and the second one is a"small reminder" of a payment request:
"Coinbase Billing sent you an invoice for $799.99 USD"
"A small reminder from Coinbase Billing, amount requested: $1,399.99 USD"

This was a better spoof than I usually see. The links looked valid. I can only assume that the 1-800 number was their way to get people.

I've had three of these in the last 12 hours, they were addressed to a different email address so I can only presume my address was CC/BCC'd in to direct it to me. One was just as via383 quoted, same amount and all. The other two were seemingly sent to the same original address, one as an initial invoice then a quick succession follow-up reminder. All three were from that same Coinbase Billing via383 mentioned.
What nearly hooked me was the fact that it came directly to my inbox marked with 'trusted sender', but I knew I hadn't made any significant purchases to warrant an invoice like that so that started me digging in with fine-tooth comb so-to-speak.

got the same things, same amount. Scam, delete and move on. Paypal doesn't ask you to call...good luck finding a phone number and there's no real name on it.
