I made a Paypal account when I was under 18, will the account be shut down if I confirm I am 18 now?

Pretty self-explanatory in the title. I made a PayPal account when I was under the age of 18, and funds are being held for the IRS currently. If I add my SSN and update my age, will the account be banned?

From my understanding of what I've read on other posts, the account will likely be blocked. If I only add my SSN I assume they will find out it was made under 18 and become shut down. Is this accurate?

Hello @JackRobertson76

Welcome! Thanks for joining PayPal's Community Forum. Sorry to hear there's been some confusion about what information you should add / update. In short, yes, you should update this account with the correct information. Also, yes, depending on your location, it may potentially be limited. However, you should reach out to our Customer Support teams to inquire continuing to use PayPal now that you're over 18. They may be able to allow the option to create a new account or to update the information on your current account.

Best wishes!
