Nguyen Thuy Linh - scam seller - has collected $39 USD x5. I reported the this as unauthorised because I have never ordered or received anything from this seller. Case was closed as it was deemed not a matter of unauthorised access.
There is no option in the Resolution Centre to change the reason for the claim and no option to raise a further claim on the transactions.
I am out of pocket for $195 USD and don't know what to do next?

1 day ago, I got the same thing. What rubbish is this? Why is Paypal allowing its users to automatically make payments, or join auto-payments without our authorisation? Ridiculous.

Same issue - totally unacceptable if not stopped and refunded by PayPal. Just realized same happened last year at same date.

A lot of times what happens is people accept a free trial for a product and forget to cancel. As a buyer you must agree to a billing agreement/subscription before a merchant can take a payment from your PayPal account.
If you don't notice during checkout OR don't cancel then it auto renews. Be careful what you are accepting.
Check if you had a subscription set up and cancel it?
Click on the profile tab (icon next to log out) > Click on payments third option along on the thick blue band top of page > "manage pre-approved payments.''
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

Not sure what you are trying to achieve with your comment. Obviously the scammer has received my details from somewhere and equally obviously that may be through a spoofed site, or even a half legitimate site set up to have a side scam. That though has nothing to do with PayPal not taking any responsibility for scammers using their functionality to do so. As such they provide much less protection that any of the major creditcards and I see no need for an account going forward.

Resolution: I reached out to Paypal though customer service and reopened the case as "Goods not received" - i.e. disputed transactions. PayPal has now confirmed that this is covered and that they will reimburse.

I managed to trace my payments to 24hsport.tv
Went into their website, logged in and cancelled auto-renew for payments.
I did NOT agree to have any payments auto renewed, and I could not see the payments or the arrangement in my paypal account whatsoever.
Regardless, i have gotten a replacement card.
