I worked for a translation company named toptal, and sent a project of translation (44,000 words: 100 pages).
I received the below message by email.

I'm sorry to hear you were asked to pay a fee to receive money. Through PayPal, you will never be required to pay any upfront fees to receive a payment. You only need to ensure your email address and phone number are confirmed. However, I also recommend verifying your account if you're new to PayPal. You can learn more about sending and receiving payments, as well as information about the fees we do charge on our Help Center. I also recommend visiting this article for more information on common scams: What are common scams and how do I spot them? We are unable to offer seller protection until a transaction has been completed, and for this reason, we do not recommend sending an item or providing a service until you receive the payment.

hey, same happened to me just now. i haven't paid till now. can you tell me if you paid the fee and received you payment or this is just another scam.

Same with me. Company's name is "TASK HARBOUR".
They asked me to re-type 30images to word and then when they've sent me the payment it said that I needed to pay $100 BEFORE receiving my payment.. they said this $100 fee was included in my payment BUT COMMEON! Totally scam..
I thought it would be, but I gave it a try.. to good to be true!
"Hello dear employee no 50
Account details you submitted, We noticed that you haven't linked your account to valid payment portal system server.
We will need a photo sample of you and a refundable amount of $100 for linking your account the companies payment portal system.
You are to link your account to the companies payment portal system with immediate effect to avoid automatic payments termination and
losses from both parties.
TaskHabour made a deposit of $1,300
to the account details you submitted meanwhile we noticed that your account has not been linked to the companies payment portal system
which cause your payment not to reflect .
You are to make a refundable deposit of $100 which would be refunded back immediately after your account has been linked
NOTE : The linking fee is already added alongside your total payment that sum up $1,300
You are to link your account immediately in your account .
