PayPal asks me to confirm my US taxpayer status. I'm not a US citizen and I can't proceed.

Hello. A couple of hours ago, after linking a bank account, PayPal asked me to confirm my US taxpayer status. I'm not a US citizen, so I chose "No" and clicked "Next". However, as soon as I did that, PayPal says "You need to select an answer" and I can't proceed with this. I really need help with this problem, because I need to continue using PayPal. I've tried clearing cookies, using different browsers, using the mobile app but I still couldn't do anything about it. Any help is appreciated. Thank you so much for your time and I hope I can solve this. Screenshot related.

Which countries paypal account did you open?

Click on settings next to log out in your paypal account and check nationality on the left. Is it registered to the country you are living in?

Thank you so much for your reply. My account is from Argentina, where I'm currently living and where I've always lived.

ok, I have seen another recent post on this issue with the same screen grab so it may be a paypal techie issue.

I would give it a few days and try again but this time clear your cache/history first and try another browser or device?

Failing that contact customer services to do it for you?

Contact options for each countries Paypal customer services are accessed by clicking help/contact bottom left of Paypal pages.

1. Paypal phones (you can use the guest option if you can't log in).
2. Live chat is also randomly available.
3. You can send them a message, (during business hours you may also be able to message whilst logged out).
4. Have you considered contacting Customer Service via Facebook or Twitter?
You can send them a private direct message via Social Media on Facebook, Twitter/X, or Instagram pages.
